Automatic performance of steam supply and condensation drainage from malt kilning.

Problem description:

  • absence of automatic feeding correction of steam to air-vapor heaters of malt drying zones. Either overheating or underheating happens during manual control.

  • a schedule submitted below shows non-uniformity of air temperature in the first zone of dehydration in the result of manual control – green color.
  • impairment of condensation drainage from the first zone of dehydration, where it is necessary to ensure air temperature not more than 39°С. Vacuum environment is formed as a result of light load in the vapor space of air heater. That makes impossible to accomplish condensation drainage by means of traditional air trap. Situation got worse during inter-seasons when entering air temperature was 15-20°С. Condensed fluid on the air heater of the first zone poured to surface drainage.
  • the existing problems lead to lack of product.

  • automatic feeding correction of steam on air temperature to air heaters of every zone is installed: pneumatic control valves, temperature gages and system controllers.

Result:

  • Automatic control installation ensured 5% saving due to the absence of vapor overrun.
  • Supporting of unvarying air temperature on every drying zone removed defective products.
  • Installation of SpiraxSarco unattended pump trap ensures condensation drainage to deaeration plant even when vapor pressure in the air heater is 0 bar and lower.

Drainage and return of condensation from bottle cleaning machine

Problem description:

  • While in operation of bottle cleaning machine appeared regular hydraulic impact that resulted in frequent repair processes of air trap. In addition impairment of condensation drainage made necessary to drain condensate repetitively.

  • Above mentioned problems were caused by stagnation of condensed fluid during the operational period of heat-transfer device of bottle cleaning machine. According to the calculation condensation drainage with the help of air trap was possible only at the load not more than 52%. When the bottle cleaning machine was switched to load 50% – in capacity of temperature maintenance of solution – steam space pressure of heat-transfer device became lower than opposite pressure in condensate pipeline. It resulted in stagnation of condensed fluid.

  • To provide condensation drainage and return from heat-transfer device of bottle cleaning machine to condensate reservoir in boiler installation with the help of MFP14 SpiraxSarco mechanical pump, which is installed according to closed scheme without loss of secondary steam.
